TOTAL DURATION

Approx. 3 days

Through the architectural and artistic works present in the territories of Lovere, Rovetta and the City of Bergamo, the salient passages of the lives of three important families from or adopted by Bergamo are reconstructed. There are the Bazzinis from Clusone, but better known for their presence in Lovere from the 15th century onwards. Then there is the Tadini family from Verona but linked to the Orobia territory due to having inherited the Palazzo Barboglio and decided to settle here during the summer periods, even establishing the Tadini Academy of Music, Drawing and Painting there. Finally, we get to the Fantoni family who linked various territories in the province with an imaginary thread of majestic works of art but reached peaks of unique production in the territories surrounding their workshop in Rovetta.

The tour begins at Palazzo Bazzini in Lovere, now owned by the parish. This historic building from the late 16th century was commissioned by Adorno Bazzini, a gentleman of the Duca Ranuccio Farnese in Parma. The route continues to the Basilica of S. Maria in Valvendra facing the Palazzo, the largest church in the Diocese of Brescia, which houses valuable works, including the organ doors painted by the Brescian Moretto and the portrait of S. Gerolamo Bazzini in the altarpiece adorning the apse. Not to be missed is the high altar designed by Fantoni.

Maria del Paradiso in Clusone, the high altar and pulpit by Andrea Fantoni in the Basilica of S. Maria Assunta in Clusone.
